Im wondering if anyone has found anywhere to find either a vegan/vegetarian/ethical employers and or employees. I ask this because i am a tradesmen. My profesion is floor instalation, everything from carpet and hardwood to tile and duradek instalation. And i would like to know if there are other ethical tradesmen that exist. Ie drywallers, plumbers, framers, roofers etc. Im planning on building an eco friendly house next year and am going to need to hire trades and i do not want to hand any money over to unethical people (most people in my area are scumbag hunters) and will not hire them. so if anyone is a tradesmen and willing to travel to do some work or anyone that needs a profecional ethical floor installer, let me know.

A website where ethical people could list there skills would be a cool idea, i cant find one and am surprised no one has thought of this yet.

Well, I'm a substitute teacher by profession so I'm of no use to you in building a house but I applaud you for not hiring any "scumbag hunters". Next to meat-eating the most deplorable thing any modern human can do is hunting and fishing. I agree that people with such sickening hobbies are unethical and should really never be trusted.

`A more nuanced example: in the Southeast, there is a problem with feral pigs. They have few if any natural predators in that part of the world, and produce several litters a year, so their populations are getting out of hand. They eat so many acorns and other tree seeds, they are actually preventing the forests from reproducing. In a situation like this, one might think hunters would be useful, an important part of conservation. The problem is, when the Forest Service hires hunters to go in and kill pigs, those hunters know that if they succeed in eradicating pigs, they will be out of a job, and not have that species to hunt anymore. So, it happens over and over again that one of these hired pig-killers will pen up a few, and keep them as hidden "breeding stock," turning in the dead piglets to make it appear that he is doing a great job.

The upshot is, despite the hunting industry's claims that hunters are the best conservationists, the truth is rather different: the case of the pigs shows that often, the only thing they are "conserving" is their own hobby.
