I have dry and occasionally sarcastic (but never mean) sense of humor which sometimes gets me into trouble with people who don't know me. I am both shy and outgoing, and I am aware of the contradiction. I am both a softhearted romantic and a hardnosed rationalist. I don't believe in ghosts, but I cried when I watched the movie Ghost. I love the outdoors, and I hike, bicycle and ski, but enjoy indoor activities as well (movies, TV, games, cuddling). I am educated, own a nice house in a nice neighborhood, have a good job (two jobs at the moment, actually) and am financially secure. I am very responsible with finances, and it has paid off for me. I am not drowning in debt like so many others. I have two cats and I love and respect all animals, so much so that I am a vegetarian. I tend to be politically liberal and I am a pacifist. I have a keen interest in the sciences and have a philosophical bent. I love reading and knowledge, and I would do very well on Jeopardy. I have no interest in religion or the supernatural, but I do consider myself to be spiritual, however it is more of a Zen type of Buddhist spiritual, not the praying kind. I live my life by the golden rule. I am an environmentalist and try to 'live green' as much as reasonably possible. Also, I'm one of the half dozen or so straight guys in the solar system that doesn't give a damn about sports. I am adventurous and love to travel. I'm a very modern guy but with old-fashioned etiquette. I'll always open doors for you, pay for dinner and put down the toilet seat. In spite of myself, I have occasionally been mistaken for a gentleman. I am both lighthearted and very deep, depending on my mood and the circumstances. I'm a good listener, always ready to lend an ear, and always ready with a cuddle or a shoulder rub whenever you need one. Despite the bumps and lumps that life and love have given me, I remain a die-hard optimist and romantic.
