Professionally, I am a translator and English teacher, currently living in Bonn, Germany but I will be back in the UK from September. Which is good because I am sort of homesick and missing Indian cooking.

As for me as a person, I am an interesting sort of person with a lot to say and laugh about. Easy-going, I get on well with both men and women, and people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. I have a lot of friendIpeople... But whether I should do or not, I have high standards - that's why I remain single.

For me, life is about being able to laugh at it. I like talking about the funny side of any of my academic interests - which include anything from world affairs to science and technology to religion. I like intelligent people and a good debate, but you have to remain light-hearted and able to laugh about these things. That isn't to say I am not passionate about things, I am. For example my vegetarianism, but I really don't see the point in discussing things that will just upset one or even both parties involved. My beliefs are for me, their beliefs are for them - arguing about fundamental ideas is just going to get ourselves annoyed, we won't change our minds. It is so much more fun to relax with a bottle of wine and laugh at the irony when watching the news. Life is the best sit-com.

My interests include languages, computing, history, politics (more to laugh at it though), religion (as a cultural and philosophical phenomenon), cooking, discovering weird and wonderful new food.
